April 2013

I guess not much happened because this is all I got...

We went swimming.  I couldn't decide which pictures were the cutest...so I am posting them all!

That's all...we went swimming.  The end of April.  I think I was probably working a ton and Karl had tests...so, yup.

March 2013

I joined Carson for his school's field day.  It was fun to see him interact and play the games.

I love this shot because I do this all the time and Karl hates it.  I have an ankle rolled as I stand or when I sit and cross my legs - the foot on the ground is rolled just like this.

This is Carson's on-again off-again girlfriend.  It is a very rocky relationship (from what he tells me).  He told me "Lorelei told me I'm her boyfriend...but then she dumped me."  HAHA!  Carson didn't seem to broken up about it.

Carson learned to ride his bike with no training wheels.  I spent all this time prepping him that he'd "have to fall a few times" but that he just has to "get right back up and try again."  Apparently he's a little more coordinated than I was because he didn't fall at all.

Chloe learned how to open the fridge and takes full advantage of this new strength.

We died Easter eggs.

We had Easter!

Please ignore my unbrushed early morning hair and just look at the cute kids.

Can you see that it was March and she already had a t-shirt tan line...Arizona (I say that with a sigh and shaking my head in dismay).  She is also super cute.

She loved her necklace..although so did everyone else in nursery.

February 2013

Ummm...I'm not too sure what happened this month as my pictures total 15.  Here is what I do know:

Chloe could say all these words.  We took a picture of it so that we could keep using the board.

Chloe dislocated her elbow this month.  We were walking and holding hands.  She tripped and I held on to keep her from face planting into the pavement.  I felt her little arm give an extra stretch.  She was whimpering and holding her arm.  We finally took her into the doctor and he popped it right back in.  They said it is really common and called nurse elbow (or something like that).  She cried when they popped it back, but a few minutes later she was using it like normal.  This happened and then the below happened a few days apart.  It made me feel like a really awesome mom.  Ugh.

I "went" to Carson's assembly.  I thought it started at 9 am but it actually started at 8:30.  So I got there right as it ended.  I felt horrible and wanted to cry.  I went up afterwards and told him he did so good.  He said he had been looking for me and couldn't find me.  I just brushed past that one. That morning was a mother fail for me.  I had worked so hard with him on his part.  But look how cute he is!

And here is just a picture of my little cutie.

January 2013

Chloe started a cheesy grin this month.  She'll still do it every once in awhile and it always cracks us up.  Here is a pic and a video.  I like her face at about 50 seconds on the video.  She also likes to "read" books and was learning all her body parts (mostly the face parts).

I also attempted pigtails for the first time.  They weren't really even or straight, but they were still cute.  I'm able to do them a lot better now.  Karl has even been able to master a few simple hairstyles.  Maybe "master" is too strong of a word.

My sister and I did a 80's 5k.  It was pretty fun getting dressed up in our gear.  The 80's music was fun.  Getting lapped by a 10k runner was REALLY fun.  I was running along and almost done with the race and then this super fit runner guy comes flying by me.  I was really confused what he had been doing behind me but then I realized that the 10k racers just did the course twice...and I was being lapped.  I had a good laugh.

Carson started his 2nd season of soccer.  He did pretty awesome...but he also seemed to get bored a lot faster.  Half way through practice he would just be messing around.  I think he had a crush on one of the girls on his team (Madison).  I saw them blowing kisses to each other one day.  I was a little embarrassed but also laughing pretty hard.  Oh, and I'm super cheap and refuse to pay for the picture packages...so here is his "soccer picture."

December 2012

I went with Carson to his Kindergarten Christmas party.  I don't think there were enough parent volunteers (just kidding, it was packed).  I would imagine the parent volunteers decrease as the kids get older.  It was fun to see him in class.

Christmas was spent here in AZ with Karl's family.  Aren't these two cute?

Chloe got a Cabbage Patch doll and this little scoot bike.  She is finally wheeling around pretty fast on it.

Carson got all the Avenger's supplies he could ever want.  I personally love this look.  Chloe thinks it is pretty funny too.

And the kids all love their Uncle HL.  Chloe is a little leery of strangers.  At Christmas time, she wanted to be with Mom or Dad...and if that wasn't possible, the only other options were Grandma or HL.  Funny girl.

 And that is December!

November 2012

Not too much happened this month.  Carson ate way too much candy (and mommy and daddy).  My reasoning is that I don't want him to eat all that candy himself so I should help get rid of some.  What's that?  I could throw it away you say?  That just seems wasteful.

Chloe got more and more attached to her comfort items.  This picture is just missing a pacifier.  She loves her blankie, stuffed animals, her milk cup, and of course, her pacifier.

The most exciting event from November was that Karl and I did a mud run with his little sister and her husband.  I slowed them down but Kim was a few months pregnant so I was really going slow for her.  I'm just that kind of person - willing to sacrifice for others : )

Look at the triumph!  (and all the gross mud).  It was a lot of fun, but it was also really hard.  Way harder than running a 5k.  The worst was when we had to go through these trenches that were filled with mud and then covered with boards.  So it was pitch black, I was bent over trudging through mud up to my waist, and there was no end in sight.  By the end of that obstacle I could barely move my legs.

My other complaint was that it hurt!  Look at how scraped up my legs were after.  And my arms looked the same.  I still have a few scars from this.  The mud had tons of little pieces of sharp gravel that cut me up as I army crawled.

Apparently I took zero Thanksgiving pics.  Oh, I remember now.  We went to my sister's house.  I was busily obsessed with Amazon lightning deals and checking my phone every 15 min.  I got a bunch of Christmas gifts through that.  It was awesome.  I also braved Target Black Friday on Thursday night.  It was a total success.  I got in line 1 hr before open and just read/played ipad.  I brought my own huge shopping bag so I wouldn't have to bother with a cart or basket.  I was so glad too.  The people with carts were stuck in traffic jams in the store forever.  I laughed as I weaved in and out of them...ha ha ha.  I knew the 5 things I wanted.  I ran in, grabbed them in order of priority and was out in 30 min.  I scored an awesome Razor scooter for Carson.  I mean...Santa scored an awesome Razor scooter for Carson.  Carrying that scooter with no cart was a little awkward...but worth it.

That's November!  On to December!

Hello, Old Friend

We got a new computer, then I survived busy season (again), and now I've had a little time to recover.  After busy season, I always go through this "I don't want to do anything" phase for a few weeks...or a month.

Now I've missed so much that getting back into blogging seems a little overwhelming.  I will do a quick summary post by month.  Starting with November 2012...hahaha.  I'm so lame.
